The method I outline here reflects two desires: to create open eBooks in open formats using open tools, and to avoid unnecessary complication by involving as few of these tools as possible. But more importantly, formatting an electronic book as an ePub guarantees that many online eBook marketplaces will host and distribute the work. ePub is the International Digital Publishing Forum's open standard for digital book publishing, and most major electronic reading devices support it (except for the Kindle-sorry, Amazon fans!). They are interesting and apropos without detracting from the text.īeing quite conservative myself, I noticed that some of the writing samples given are leaning to the left, and speak from a global viewpoint. (and much, much more) I think the writers could have included a larger section of homonyms, but they cover most of the common ones. It takes the student through a logical process of developing ideas, topics, structure, and different genres of writing. The layout is interesting, colorful and varied. Instead of actual page numbers, the different sections are broken down by a continuance of numbered subsections. It is helpful to read it as such before using it as a reference book. I believe this is a textbook for students from Jr.High on up. The divers subject matter covers everything from penmanship to typing, and from measuring to maps. This book is intended to educate and motivate new writers.
